OUR VISION
Our vision is to create a social environment where we can offer the best bits from childminding (home-from-home care and nurturing) while combining it with a more structured approach for 2-4 year olds. This gives them a pre-school experience, as well as the care we know is sometimes missing from a pre-school or nursery environment. Children can get lost in the crowd so our approach is to know every child inside out, putting Cultural Capital at the forefront of everything we do and catering for children's individual needs, based on their personality, interests and learning style.

COMMUNITY
Our ethos is one where fairness, respect, empathy and sense of community are nurtured within a caring and inclusive environment.
KINDNESS
We want to encourage kindness in a world where kindness and understanding is ever more needed. Politeness, manners and positive behaviour is at the heart of everything we do.
ENVIRONMENT
We want to encourage children to be conscious about their environment from the very start of their lives. To be thoughtful about their impact on their planet and to take steps to protect it.
SAFETY
We want children to feel safe enough to be curious, confident, creative learners able to take risks in a challenging environment
TESTIMONIALS

The children are always out and about on fun adventures, mini sports day, go to the allotment, museums and music groups! Tracey has a team of people in a larger setting so my daughter’s social skills and preparation for school has been excellent; she has all the plus points that some may look for from a nursery/preschool but with the one-to-one care that we wanted our child to have.
Sheena, Shortland
We’ve used The Wonder Years for both our children - It’s a creative, safe and nurturing environment for them where they really thrived. Our boys have been so happy there, and there is no greater comfort to us than that.
Isobel and Lewis, Bickley

Kate has looked after our boys since they were infants. She is compassionate, energetic and truly cares about children fulfilling their potential, whatever that may be. We are so grateful to her and the team that take such good care of our children and have helped develop their confident, inquisitive characters!

Activities
Each month in line with our Curriculum, we like to take the children on a related outing (if parents agree). For example, January is Transport so we went to the London Transport museum and Biggin Hill Airport. See photos and Curriculum for further info.

EYFS & CURRICULUM
Here are just a few of the things your child will do during their time with us:
-
Children are provided with a wide range of activities that support their learning, development and wellbeing across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
-
Opportunities for creativity and early writing include drawing and mark making, writing letters and numbers, and using a variety of materials such as paint, chalks, stencils and crayons. Children are also encouraged to explore books, menus and magazines to support early literacy skills.
-
Mathematical development is supported through play-based activities exploring numbers, shapes, sizes and opposites. Children regularly take part in puzzles, jigsaws, board games and construction play using resources such as Lego, train tracks and building blocks.
-
Imaginative play is encouraged through role play areas including vets, hairdressers, restaurants and travel agents, as well as small-world play with animals, dinosaurs, cars, dolls and other resources.
-
Children develop social skills through playing games together, contributing to group displays linked to current themes, and working collaboratively during activities.
-
Practical life skills are supported by involving children in preparing snacks and meals, sharing food and helping to tidy up. Cooking and baking activities also take place regularly.
-
Outdoor learning forms an important part of the provision and includes outdoor play, minibeast hunts, visits to the allotment, planting and watering, and exploring the mud kitchen.
-
Children also take part in enrichment activities such as singing, dancing, playing instruments, yoga, Zumba, PE sessions, Forest School and Spanish.
-
Outings are an integral part of our enrichment activities and we have these at least once a month which relate to our monthly topic, E.G Transport Museum, Pumpkin picking and Farms.
